Detroit River Educational Fishing Trip Details and Roster

What to Bring:  Remember we are fishing cold water in the spring, so please dress accordingly.  On trips up and down the river we may be traveling near 50 mph, so factor in the wind chill!  Best advice is to overdress-we have room in the boat to store clothes we are not using.  Every angler over 17 years old will need a 2008 Michigan fishing license.  Please have them before you arrive.  Be sure to bring a camera and any food and drink you will want during the day.  Also, be sure to bring any medication for any illnesses or allergies, as well as seasick medication if you may need it.  ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED ON BOAT.  An option for lunch is to return to the slip and take a quick 2 block walk to the Speedboat Bar and Grill for a burger and some time to get warm-your choice.  All fishing equipment, lures, tackle and bait are provided by Lance, but feel free to bring yours along if you wish.

Directions to boat:   Lance’s boat is docked in at Libra Marina in Wyandotte, just south of the Wyandotte Boat Ramp. Access to the boat slip and a parking area are found on Perry Place, just east off of Biddle Ave. Look for Lance’s White Ford pickup with White topper and park nearby.  A door to the slips will be open, come on in and head to Lance's Slip. Biddle Ave is actually Jefferson Ave; it just changes names in the town of Wyandotte.  Libra Marina is located just west of the boat slips at 815 Clifford St, Wyandotte 48192 if you need to use Mapquest for directions.

Time of Trip:  Morning Trips will launch at 7:30 am and will be back at the slip by 2:30 pm.  Evening trips will launch at 4:00 pm and return at 7:00 pm.  If you are going to be late, please phone me at 810-240-2317 and let me know.  Sunday Trips will launch at 12:00 noon and return to the dock at 6:30 p.m.

Fish Cleaning:  is available after the trip.  Feel free to bring your knives to help, but it is not required.  Please bring some gallon sized Ziploc baggies for the fillets and a cooler with ice to transport the fish home in.

Lodging:  If you are planning on staying there are a few good hotels in the area.  Your best bet is the hotel area on Northline Rd in Southgate.  There is a Motel 6, La Quinta Inn, Holiday Inn and Comfort Suites located there.  All are about a 10 minute ride from the boat launch.  There are also other hotels including a Super 8, Ramada and Red Roof Inn on Eureka Road located in Taylor, about 10 minutes away from the ramp.
